Summer is here!

Well summer is well and truly here.  Murray is All England's and Scotland's hero, the sun is still shining, the garden a tumult of flowers, and the strawberries enormous and succulent.  The sheep are hiding in the shade to escape the heat, but I have retreated into the refreshing coolness of the cottage to write this update.

Following the atrocious weather earlier in the year, we have been busy over the last couple of months photographing the cottage, garden and immediate area for this new website, but in deference to Wimbledon we set up the pingpong table on the back lawn and have been polishing up our Table Tennis volley and return skills!

We have also added Boule, Croquet and Lawn Chess sets to the standard equipment in the cottage, to expand even further the range of relaxing things to do at Manor Holding.

July 7th's 1940's day on the Severn Valley Railway brought out vintage costumes and vehicles all over the district. enjoying the perfect weather with the hundreds of cyclists joining in the "Shropshire Hills 100" cycling event, a celebration of cycling taking in many of Shropshire's finest landscapes via three routes of differing severity and length (50, 75 and 100 miles), aimed at all ages of cyclist and coinciding with the start of the better known Tour de France.
